In something like Inception where he’s a secondary character, he takes a back seat, and without appearing like he wants all of the attention while he’s on screen, yet his presence demands it anyway. He goes into each role understanding the character and its relevance to the story and does exactly what he needs to. You will never see that out of Tom Hardy. Watch The Wolf of Wall Street and you’ll see a performance that, while true to Jordan Belfort, feels bloated and riddled with the desire to be accepted and rewarded. Daniel Day-Lewis doesn’t appear nearly enough to hold onto the top spot (and is now “officially” retiring), and while great, Leonardo DiCaprio feels like he is desperate for the top spot. Tom Hardy is literally a one man wrecking crew on the screen. Despite only having a handful of lines, Hardy knocks every one of them out of the park like Sammy Sosa with a corked bat. By under utilizing Tom Hardy’s voice, it showed me that he is one of the greatest things that the film industry has ever had or ever will have.
#TOM HARDY BEST VOICE EVER MOVIE#
Mad Max: Fury Road is fantastic, but it did something important that no other movie has, for me. Earning a rating of 89/100 on Metacritic, 8.7/10 on IMDb, and scores of 98% and 91% from critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes respectively. As of June 4th, it has made over $283 million dollars, an impressive figure considering the R rating attached to it. More important than dollar signs, everyone and their mother is drooling over the film critically. Mad Max: Fury Road has taken the cinematic world by storm since its mid May release. In a year for film that has been criticized for being flooded with remakes, reboots, and sequels, one has steered its way out of the desert and found an oasis well, to everybody but me, it seems. Typically the first weekend of May launches the start of summer for blockbusters, and this year was no exception.ĭespite The Avengers: Age of Ultron raking in over $1 Billion in the box office, with that number continuing to rise, critics and audiences alike have found a different favorite. However, Hollywood likes to begin summer a little earlier because summer is the only season in Southern California.
